Karnataka Tour Package 2026 — One State, Many Worlds

Karnataka is India's most diverse state — within its borders you will find UNESCO World Heritage ruins of a great medieval empire, misty coffee-scented hill stations, pristine beaches, royal palace cities, ancient rock-cut temples, and India's most beautiful Buddhist monastery. Luxytrix Travel's Karnataka tour packages 2026 are designed to help you explore this extraordinary variety, starting from ₹10,999 per person.

As the Best Travel Agency in Noida for South India packages, Luxytrix has helped thousands of travellers discover Karnataka's many worlds. Our guests from Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, and across India consistently rank Karnataka among India's most rewarding destinations. Whether you seek heritage, nature, adventure, or simply to sit in a Coorg coffee estate as mist rolls through the valleys — Karnataka delivers.

Mysuru Palace — Royal Karnataka

Mysuru (Mysore) Palace — the Amba Vilas Palace — is the second most visited tourist attraction in India after the Taj Mahal. This Indo-Saracenic masterpiece of a palace, completed in 1912, is breathtakingly beautiful both by day and even more so by night when it is illuminated by 97,000 electric bulbs. The Dasara festival (October) at Mysuru Palace is the most grand royal celebration in India — the Jambu Savari elephant procession is legendary across Asia. The Chamundeshwari Temple atop the 1,062-metre Chamundi Hill overlooks the city. Brindavan Gardens, designed in 1927, hosts a spectacular musical dancing fountain show every evening that travellers from Jaipur and Chandigarh describe as surprisingly magnificent.

Coorg — Scotland of India

Coorg (Kodagu) is Karnataka's most beloved hill station — a misty, coffee-scented paradise in the Western Ghats. The district produces some of India's finest Arabica and Robusta coffee, and staying in a working coffee estate is one of Karnataka's signature experiences. Abbey Falls is a spectacular 70-foot waterfall surrounded by coffee and spice plantations. Raja's Seat — a hilltop garden — offers a legendary sunset viewpoint across misty valleys. The Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple) in Bylakuppe, near Kushalnagar, is one of the most beautiful Buddhist monasteries in India and the largest Nyingma teaching centre outside Tibet. The Dubare Elephant Camp on the Cauvery River allows you to bathe and feed elephants. Mandalpatti jeep safari takes you to an elevated plateau with panoramic Ghats views. Chelavara Falls in the coffee forests is a hidden gem that travellers from Lucknow and Indore find extraordinary.

Hampi — The Greatest Medieval Ruins in India

Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most mind-blowing places in India — the ruins of Vijayanagara, capital of the greatest empire in medieval South India, spread over 26 sq km of surreal boulder-strewn landscape on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. The Virupaksha Temple, still an active place of worship with a ceremonial elephant, is over 1,400 years old. The Vittala Temple complex houses the iconic Stone Chariot (featured on India's 50-rupee note) and the Musical Pillars that produce different musical notes when tapped. The Lotus Mahal (royal women's enclosure), the Elephant Stables, and the Royal Enclosure reveal the sophistication of 15th-century Vijayanagara. Matanga Hill offers the most spectacular sunrise panorama over the ruins and the river. Travellers from Ahmedabad and Surat rate Hampi as more impressive than any world-famous ruin they have visited internationally.

Chikmagalur — Karnataka's Coffee Country

Chikmagalur is Karnataka's original coffee district — the birthplace of Indian coffee cultivation. Legend says Sufi saint Baba Budan smuggled 7 coffee seeds from Yemen in the 17th century and planted them in these hills. Mullayanagiri (1,930m) is the highest peak in Karnataka with spectacular 360° views on clear days. The Bababudangiri hills have a unique syncretic shrine sacred to both Hindus and Muslims. Hebbe Falls, a two-tiered 168m waterfall deep in the forest, requires a jeep/hike to reach — unforgettable. Cloud-shrouded coffee estates and misty forest drives make Chikmagalur one of India's most atmospheric hill districts. A coffee factory tour showing processing from cherry to cup is fascinating.

Ancient Temples: Badami, Pattadakal, Belur-Halebid

Karnataka's ancient temple heritage is extraordinary. Badami Cave Temples (6th century Chalukya rock-cut temples) are carved directly into a red sandstone cliff overlooking a beautiful lake — the Agastya Lake reflection doubles their beauty. Pattadakal (UNESCO) houses a remarkable cluster of Chalukya temples displaying both north and south Indian architectural styles side by side. Belur and Halebid showcase the masterwork of Hoysala temple sculpture — the most intricate stone carvings in the world, where a single panel can contain hundreds of precisely carved figures in various narrative scenes.

Gokarna, Jog Falls & Wildlife

Gokarna's Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, and Paradise Beach are pristine, serene alternatives to Goa — with clear water, dramatic cliffs, and a hippie-free, spiritual atmosphere (no alcohol on beaches). Jog Falls (253m) is India's tallest plunge waterfall — most spectacular during and after monsoon (September-October). Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary and Nagarhole National Park are among India's finest for elephant, leopard, and tiger sightings — the Kabini reservoir attracts massive elephant herds in summer (April-May). Karnataka's capital Bangalore (Bengaluru) offers the beautiful Lalbagh Botanical Garden (250 acres), Cubbon Park, the magnificent Vidhana Soudha, Tipu's Palace, UB City mall, and a world-class restaurant and craft beer scene loved by travellers from Mumbai and Delhi.

6 Essential Karnataka Travel Tips

Expert advice from our experienced Karnataka travel team

🏨
Book Hampi Accommodation Early
Hampi has limited quality accommodation options — the good lodges and the spectacular Evolve Back luxury resort fill up quickly, especially October to February. Book at least 2–3 months in advance for peak season. Staying overnight in Hampi means you can climb Matanga Hill for sunrise — worth waking up at 5am.
🚲
Bicycle or Auto in Hampi
Hampi's ruins are spread over 26 sq km — hire a bicycle (₹100–150/day) or auto-rickshaw to explore efficiently. The landscape is otherworldly — giant boulders, banana plantations, ancient temples around every corner. Avoid visiting Hampi midday as it gets very hot; explore 6–10am and 4–7pm. Sunset from Matanga Hill is extraordinary.
🏡
Coorg Coffee Estate Homestay
Staying in a working Coorg coffee estate homestay is one of India's finest rural accommodation experiences — fresh coffee served at dawn, walks through cardamom-scented forest, silence and birdsong. Popular estates like Honey Valley, Rainforest Retreat, and Alath-Cad Estate book out months in advance for holiday periods. Reserve early for this unique experience.
🏖️
Gokarna — Peaceful Beaches
Gokarna's beaches (Om Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach) are alcohol-free and peaceful — a completely different vibe from Goa. Half Moon and Paradise beaches require a 20–30 minute hike or boat from Om Beach — worth every step. Stay at the beachside guesthouses for the full experience. No loud parties, no crowds — just sea, rocks, and stars.
⛰️
Mullayanagiri Trek Tips
Vehicles can drive to a point about 2km from Mullayanagiri's peak — then it's a 1km moderate hike to the summit at 1,930m. Start before 9am to avoid clouds obscuring the view. The peak is often clear early morning and cloud-covered by noon. Carry water and wear comfortable shoes. The view on a clear day across the Ghats valleys is spectacular.
🎉
Mysuru Dasara Festival
Mysuru Dasara festival (Vijayadashami, October) is the most grand royal festival in India — 10 days of decorated processions, the famous Jambu Savari elephant procession, cultural events, and the illuminated palace. Plan 6 months ahead and book immediately — hotels in Mysuru and Bangalore fill up completely for Dasara weekend. The experience is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about your Karnataka trip

October to February is the ideal time to visit Karnataka — temperatures are comfortable across the state (15–28°C), Dasara festival in October is spectacular, and wildlife sighting conditions are excellent. March–April is also good. June–September brings heavy monsoon to Coorg and coastal Karnataka (Gokarna receives 3,000mm+ of rain) — beautiful for waterfalls and green scenery but roads can be affected. Hampi is best October–March; avoid May–June (very hot, 40°C+). Chikmagalur is pleasant year-round with June–September being lush green after rain.

Both are Karnataka's premier coffee hill stations but offer different experiences. Coorg (Kodagu) is larger, more developed for tourism, has more activities (elephant camp, Mandalpatti jeep safari, Abbey Falls, Namdroling Temple), and offers the widest range of coffee estate accommodation options. Chikmagalur is more raw and adventurous — Mullayanagiri Peak trekking, Hebbe Falls hike, Bababudangiri forest drives. If you have time, do both (they are 3.5 hrs apart). If you must choose one, Coorg has more to do; Chikmagalur is more authentic and less crowded.

A minimum of 5–6 days is needed to cover Karnataka's main highlights: Mysuru, Coorg, and Bangalore. 7–8 days allows you to add Hampi and Chikmagalur. A comprehensive tour covering all major regions including Gokarna, Badami, and Belur-Halebid requires 10–12 days. For a focused experience (just Mysuru + Coorg), 4 days is sufficient as a weekend getaway from Bangalore.

Bangalore (Kempegowda International Airport) is the primary entry point with direct flights from all Indian cities — Delhi (2.5 hrs), Mumbai (1.5 hrs), Hyderabad (1 hr), Chennai (1 hr). For Hampi-focused tours, fly to Hubli (limited connections) or Hyderabad then drive/train. For Gokarna, the nearest airport is Goa (Dabolim) 120km away. Luxytrix can arrange all travel options. Train connectivity from Mumbai to Bangalore (Udyan Express, 24 hrs) and from Delhi (Rajdhani, 33 hrs) is also available.

Hampi is very safe for all types of travellers — solo, couples, families with children. It is a popular destination with a well-established tourism infrastructure. The ruins are open and well-lit. However, some trails between ruins involve crossing open terrain on rocks — wear proper footwear. The town on the north bank of Tungabhadra is the main backpacker hub; the south bank (Hospet side) has more upmarket hotels. Local touts are present but not aggressive — simply decline politely. Luxytrix provides an experienced guide who knows every corner of Hampi.
