Colosseum sunsets, gondola rides through Venice's canals, the Uffizi's Renaissance masterpieces, and limoncello on the Amalfi Coast — Italy is Europe's most spectacular journey.
Italy is a country that rewards the traveller at every turn — with 58 UNESCO World Heritage Sites (the most of any country), a cuisine that has conquered the world, Renaissance art that still moves tears, and a landscape that ranges from the snow-capped Alps of the north to the sun-bleached volcanic coasts of Sicily. For Indian travellers from Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai, Italy is accessible via connecting flights through major European or Gulf hubs, and the reward is an immersion in 3,000 years of continuous human civilisation.
At Luxytrix, our Italy tour packages are crafted for couples from Pune, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad seeking romantic gondola rides through Venice and sunset dinners on the Amalfi Coast; for families from Surat, Chandigarh, and Lucknow who want to stand inside the Colosseum and throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain; and for culture-lovers from Kolkata and Indore who want an entire morning in the Uffizi Gallery among Botticelli's Primavera and da Vinci's Annunciation. Every Luxytrix Italy package includes skip-the-line entry to major attractions — because your time in Italy is too precious to spend in queues.
Italy Essentials: Italy requires a Schengen Visa for Indian citizens (apply 15-21 days before travel). Italy has more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than any country — 58 sites. The Vatican (inside Rome) is technically a separate country — the world's smallest. Italy produces 15% of the world's wine. Pizza was invented in Naples in the late 19th century.
Rome is the world's greatest open-air museum. The Colosseum — completed in 80 AD and capable of seating 80,000 spectators — is the world's most visited ancient monument. Just across the road, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are the ruins of the empire that once ruled from Scotland to Mesopotamia. The Vatican Museums house one of humanity's greatest collections — the Sistine Chapel ceiling painted by Michelangelo (1508-1512) leaves visitors breathless. St. Peter's Basilica is simultaneously the world's largest church and its most architecturally extraordinary. The Trevi Fountain (throw a coin for guaranteed return to Rome), the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon — Rome's best-preserved ancient building — round out a city that demands at least 3 days of unhurried exploration.
Venice is built on 118 small islands connected by 400 bridges over 177 canals — and it has been slowly sinking for centuries, making a visit both timeless and urgent. A gondola ride through the narrow rii (side canals) past shuttered palazzos is one of travel's most romantic experiences. St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco) with its 9th-century Basilica, the Doge's Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs are Venice's historic core. The Murano Island glassblowing demonstrations, the Burano Island's brightly painted fishermen's houses, and the islands of Torcello and the Lido make for magical day trips. The Grand Canal at sunset from the Rialto Bridge remains one of Europe's most extraordinary views.
Florence (Firenze) was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance — the 15th-century cultural explosion that gave the world Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Brunelleschi. The Uffizi Gallery holds the world's greatest collection of Renaissance paintings. Michelangelo's David (5.17 metres of white Carrara marble) in the Galleria dell'Accademia is one of art history's supreme achievements. The Duomo — Brunelleschi's orange-tiled dome, completed 1436 — is an engineering miracle that remained the world's largest dome for 300 years. The Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) with its medieval jewellery shops spanning the Arno river, and the Pitti Palace Gardens, complete Florence's irresistible appeal.
The Amalfi Coast — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — curves for 50 km along the southern edge of the Sorrentine Peninsula, with cliffside villages tumbling into the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea. Positano is the jewel: stacked terraces of pastel-coloured buildings, bougainvillea cascades, and pebble beaches that attract the world's most stylish travellers. Ravello, perched 350 metres above the sea with its garden concerts and panoramic terraces, is where D.H. Lawrence and Gore Vidal chose to write. We include a boat tour from Amalfi to the sea caves of the Emerald Grotto and lunch at a historic family restaurant with recipes passed down for five generations.

The Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Uffizi Gallery, and Galleria dell'Accademia all require advance booking — especially in peak season. Walk-up queues can be 3-4 hours. All Luxytrix Italy packages include skip-the-line reservations.
Italy's Frecciarossa/Frecciargento high-speed trains are the best way to travel between cities. Rome–Florence takes 1h 30m, Florence–Venice takes 2h. Far faster than flights once you factor airport time. Book seats in advance on Trenitalia.com.
All Italian churches (including the Vatican) require covered shoulders and knees. Carry a light scarf or shawl for impromptu church visits. The Vatican is very strict — you won't be admitted with shorts or sleeveless tops.
In Italy, espresso is drunk standing at the bar — it costs €1-1.50 and tastes transcendent. Cappuccino is a morning drink only (never after noon for locals). Avoid tourist trap cafés near major sights — walk one block away for authentic prices.
Italy has over 2,500 public drinking fountains (nasoni in Rome, fontanelle elsewhere) with clean, cold municipal water. Fill your reusable water bottle — Italian tap water is excellent quality and saves significant money.
Apply for a Schengen Visa at the Italian Embassy/VFS Global 30-45 days before travel. Required: confirmed hotel bookings, return flight tickets, bank statements (min ₹2 lakh), travel insurance. Luxytrix provides complete documentation support and dummy tickets for visa applications.
